Cloud Description

Experts in this TalentCloud should be able to work closely with software and application development teams to recommend database strategies, architecture, and data management solutions based on the data storage and retrieval requirements.

  • Responsible for constantly monitoring the database and addressing database issues and problems
  • Working experience with data management concepts and activities including an understanding of industry best practices for Data Sourcing, Key Data Elements, Data Quality Management, Metadata, and Enterprise Data Management Policy, Process, and Procedures
  • Experience with developing and managing data governance capabilities, including standardized data vocabularies and related capabilities (business glossaries, data dictionaries, etc.)
  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data
  • Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming
  • Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations
  • Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams
  • Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting and integrating new features.
  • Provide insight into the changing database storage and utilization requirements for the company and offer suggestions for solutions.
  • Analyze database implementation methods to make sure they are in line with company policies and any external regulations that may apply.
  • Create data monitoring models for each product and work with our marketing team to create models ahead of new releases.
  • Develop database design and architecture documentation for the management and executive teams
  • Help maintain the integrity and security of the company database
  • Coordinate with clients, data users, and key stakeholders and develop and achieve various long term objectives for data architecture,
  • Design short-term resolutions to achieve all goals and prepare a data roadmap for management
  • Determine procedure to identify and collect all required data, validate the process and recommend improvements to corporate data
  • Oversee and monitor all frameworks to manage data across the organization
  • Design and provide support to all data management methodologies according to required standards
  • Monitor and identify appropriate equipment, tools, and systems to achieve all data technology goals.
  • Build databases based on structural requirements and in-depth analysis. They also thoroughly test and maintain those databases to ensure their longevity and overall efficiency
  • Responsible for evaluating the current state of the company’s databases and other data systems. They analyze these databases and identify new solutions to increase efficiency and performance.
  • Define the overall database structure, including recovery, security, backup, and capability specifications. This definition provides a way for data architects to determine overall requirements for database structure.
  • Responsible for implementing the database solutions they propose. This entire process includes developing process flows, coordinating with data engineers and analysts, and documenting the installation process.

Required Skills

  • Deep understanding of database architectures
  • Data analytics – data architects are experts in everything data-related. They know exactly how data is collected, analyzed, and delivered. They’re also familiar with both the technical and user-facing sides of databases
  • Scripting languages – data architects should be familiar with scripting languages such as PHP, C, and SQL
  • Attention to detail – successful data architects pay meticulous attention to details and have a deep understanding of how even the smallest details fit into the big picture
  • Critical thinking – data architects tackle problems by first evaluating them and thinking of several different potential solutions. They use their critical thinking skills to deliver the most efficient solution based on database structure and requirements
  • Experience developing innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems
  • Ability to evaluate and plan migrations
  • Industry leadership in the fields of database, Analytics or data sciences,
  • Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including MPP databases, NoSQL storage, BI reporting
  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with non-relational, NoSQL databases and other data analytics applications
  • Experience with RDBMS and SQL
  • Experience driving discussions deal with conflicting opinions with senior architects regarding trade-offs, best practices, pitfalls, and challenges
  • Experience consulting for the optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance
  • Good data modeling skills with Normal Forms and DW data models

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Java or Python, experience implementing caching solutions
  • Experience with tools such as Amazon DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and Hadoop (HBase)
