Think of this as a way to get to know your customers or employees. Seeing things from their perspective will better help you understand their values and beliefs. The necessary key to building EI is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/topic\/self-awareness\" rel=\"noopener\">self-awareness<\/a>.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessnewsdaily.com\/6097-self-awareness-in-leadership.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Studies<\/a>\u00a0show that people who have higher self-awareness are better leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means you can detect what you\u2019re feeling and why you\u2019re feeling it, to put it simply. It also means being realistic in recognizing the areas you\u2019re good at, plus areas that could use improvement. In turn, this helps you pick up on other people\u2019s emotional tendencies and empathize with them.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-75baee6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"75baee6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>But it\u2019s important to remember that EI isn\u2019t about keeping your emotions bottled up \u2014 that will only result in a negative explosive reaction. Having true empathy for friends and co-workers goes a long way when motivating and engaging them. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.experfy.com\/blog\/5-reasons-why-emotional-intelligence-is-the-future-of-work\/\">Emotional intelligence<\/a> and true compassion forge the strongest and most loyal connections. Relating to them on a personal level gives them a sense of belonging. Make them feel like they have a role to play. This doesn\u2019t mean using flattery and adulation.
