Companies are now realizing the benefit of assistance from \u201cdigital workers,\u201d aka robotic process automation\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/readwrite.com\/2020\/01\/17\/iot-in-2020-its-all-coming-together\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">(RPA)<\/a>\u00a0software robots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These so-called bots augment tasks and help employees expedite customer-facing and revenue-generating processes, such as onboarding, accounts payable, claims, shipping and logistics, and customer inquiries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IDC survey did confirm that workers would be happy to hand over \u201cboring\u201d jobs like data entry, electronic filing, and reviewing long documents. \u201cHappy to hand over \u2018boring jobs&#8217;\u201d is fortunate because it\u2019s clear the advent of AI, machine learning, and advanced cognitive technologies means more digital workers will be joining the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IDC white paper revealed that the number of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/readwrite.com\/2019\/08\/13\/7-must-reads-if-your-company-wants-to-attract-gen-z\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">digital workers entering the workforce<\/a>\u00a0is expected to leap by 50 percent by the end of next year.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aa114a3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"aa114a3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<p>So what is the impact of the pandemic?
