The complexities of this situation cannot be underplayed, with multiple layers to consider, from human health both physical and mental to world economies. Whilst <a href=\"https:\/\/www.experfy.com\/blog\/how-covid-19-is-forcing-companies-to-invoke-business-continuity-plans-and-what-this-means-for-the-future-of-work\/\">COVID-19<\/a> may be a great equaliser in terms of its indiscriminate contagion, the response from governments has varied widely.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-64369e9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"64369e9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tI recently met with a group of experienced business leaders from two key regions \u2013 the UK and Middle East, to discuss how different sectors, and businesses are dealing with the management of their operations, as we all try to fathom the best way to deal with this extraordinary situation that we all find ourselves in.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d135671 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d135671\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\nAs if you to remind us of just how fast governments are moving to deal and manage the threat, when this discussion took place construction sites in the UAE were still operating but with stringent health and safety guidelines being followed. Only four days later new restrictions were announced in Dubai, requiring movement permits to be obtained from Dubai Municipality and the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs by vital sectors, which includes construction.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-962e964 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"962e964\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><h3><strong>The building blocks of the economy<\/strong><\/h3><\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-268b18c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"268b18c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWhat is very apparent is just how vital to the global economy the Construction sector (in its broadest term) is, not only as a huge employer across many social strata\u2019s but also an indicator of the health of an economy, along with its close relative \u2018manufacturing\u2019. It is therefore not surprising that government, only with one or two exceptions, have been prepared to insist on a blanket shut down of either and leaving it to the discretion of the businesses.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3346fd0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3346fd0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThis has been a huge dilemma for many organisations \u2013 the health of the business versus the health of people may on the face it appears very simple because every right-minded person would choose people surely? Except it is far more complex than that \u2013 company owners need to endure the long term health of a business to guarantee a future for its employees.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7faf1ad elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7faf1ad\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><h3><strong>Cash and Continuity<\/strong><\/h3><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2d4d12c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2d4d12c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCash flow concerns and business continuity are not minor issues, they are fundamental to the vigour of all business and never before have we had to deal with such a rude and indiscriminate disruptor.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-31643ec elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"31643ec\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEven with the incredibly generous support of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/new-guidance-launched-to-help-get-brits-safely-back-to-work\" rel=\"noopener\">UK government<\/a> to business, some level of commerce must take place balance with keeping employees safe. In the absence of certainty, there must be balance. \u00a0Another important statistic to bear in mind is that a 6.4% drop in economy could cause more deaths than the virus.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-076d6e3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"076d6e3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSo, whilst the vast majority of us are remote working what are the key things we can do to keep the wheels of commerce turning?\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-703f488 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"703f488\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><h3><strong>Are there any upsides?<\/strong><\/h3><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2d96f8b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2d96f8b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWell yes, perhaps a few.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0d4b9ea elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0d4b9ea\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLike all terrible situations there are winners and losers.
