as Deep Mind or Open AI, but what if you would like to give your own contribution in your spare time?<\/p>\n\n<p id=\"ba85\">In this article, we are going&nbsp;to explore different possible approaches you can take in order to be always up to date with the latest in research and how to provide your own contribution.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-feea147 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"feea147\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">The Reproducibility Challenge<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-214def1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"214def1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p id=\"1d4c\">One of the main problems which have affected the AI research field is the possible inability to efficiently reproduce models and results claimed in some publications (Reproducibility Challenge).<\/p>\n\n<p id=\"fc23\">In fact, many research articles published every year contains just an explanation of the derided topic and model developed but no source code to reproduce their results. Some reasons why researchers might at times omit these kinds of information are: keep a competitive advantage against other institutions, non-disclosure agreements, transform their research into a product, etc\u2026<\/p>\n\n<p id=\"2d81\">In order to make research more accessible and have real-world impacts, different competitions have been created in order to encourage the public to study different publications and try to reproduce their results. Two of the most know competitions in this ambit are the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/reproducibility-challenge.github.io\/neurips2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NeurIPS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/reproducibility-challenge.github.io\/iclr_2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ICLR<\/a>\u00a0Reproducibility Challenges. In case you are looking for any practical example, I recently started a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/pierpaolo28\/Reproduced-Research-Papers\/tree\/master\/Genetic%20Algorithms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GitHub repository<\/a>\u00a0about this topic.<\/p>\n\n<p id=\"6d70\">Additionally, websites like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/paperswithcode.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Papers with Code<\/a>, have recently been created in order to easily find research publications which already have publicly available code.
