But it has come under fire &#8211; many people are questioning its accuracy and its impact on privacy, while lawmakers are concerned it tampers with law enforcement efforts.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ec9768b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ec9768b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tShaun Moore, co-founder and CEO of biometrics firm Trueface, believes facial recognition is a single component of a larger advancement in technology. \u201cAs our\u00a0identities\u00a0continue to digitise, we need methods and solutions to protect them and authenticate them.\u201d\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f9dfb97 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f9dfb97\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHe says passwords are simply too easy to hack, so biometrics have been the necessary solution for the last ten years. \u201cI am not suggesting that face recognition as a single input is the \u2018be all and end all\u201d solution, but pairing it with social information or behavioural information certainly makes it more difficult to comprise an\u00a0identity.\u201d\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5fcb66c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5fcb66c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAccording to Moore, the debate that society is having is purely about a surveillance state and begs the question of whether or not the government should have the tools to \u2018monitor\u2019 everyone in real-time.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d189002 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d189002\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cThe fact is, this is simply not how the technology is being deployed and the government isn\u2019t watching every street block scanning faces,\u201d he explains. \u201cThis technology is meant to aid the already very difficult job of law enforcement in identifying someone who has already committed a crime. Instead of manually scanning through days of footage, face recognition can provide another source of information or point of reference. It is not built to \u2018be the decision\u2019 it is to be used as a tool in a toolbox.\u201d\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4bccb09 is, at its basic form, computing geometry.\u00a0 These equations represent the face which is then compared to other mathematical representations to find a match or a similarity their own equation or mathematical representation which is unique to them but also uniquely ingested by the algorithm.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cIt is not a one-size-fits-all approach, as templates cannot be transferred across companies or algorithms, meaning you cannot take a face template from one company and use it to positively identify that person using a different company\u2019s software.\u201d\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cf2db4e elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"cf2db4e\" to authorise individuals setting up bank accounts and making mobile transactions, as well as expedite the boarding process on planes, the embarking process on cruise ships, and to identify missing children.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6f8ac74 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6f8ac74\" adoption of facial recognition technology across police departments as a forensic tool, but he is unaware of any department using face recognition in real time. \u201cIn addition, we are working with companies to provide face recognition as a credential for access control to corporate offices and construction
