We are a marketplace for scientific collaboration, where researchers can order experiments from the world’s best labs. Our mission is to improve the quality and efficiency of scientific research by using market-based incentives to promote collaboration between scientists.

I’m interested in a market sizing exercise to support general business goals including fundraising efforts. Specifically I’d like to size the following markets: 

1) overall R&D market (i.e. how much is spent on R&D in total). I’d like one breakdown by geography/region and one breakdown by research phase (discovery/research vs development). 

2) contract research market (i.e. how much is spent externally or via outsourcing). The CRO market is one part of this but really just applies to the bio/pharma industry so definitely under-estimates the market size. Again I’l like breakdowns by geography and type/phase of spend.
